Spanish Fork was settle in 1851 by Mormon Pioneers. The name comes from two Spaniards who visited the area in hope of finding a new route from New Mexico to California. They loved the area because of the river that flowed through it and found that it was a wonderful sheltered place for animals and people to reside.
Since then, Spanish Fork has grown to a population of 38,861. Most of which is younger than the national average. It was home to the first permanent Icelandic settlement in the U.S. and has to over 2,759 businesses.
