Pleasant Grove, originally known as Battle Creek was named after a battle that took place in 1849. It was settled by Mormon Pioneers in the year of 1850. Life was very difficult at the time, but thanks to the fertile soil, life became more bearable. Each year settlers were able to depend on a strong crop because of its fertile ground. Many crops were able to grow in abundance, especially strawberries. Since then, people have gathered together, socially to celebrate “Strawberry Days” each summer. Therefore, Strawberry Days is the longest community celebration in Utah to date.
Pleasant Grove is located at the base of Mount Timpanogos. Represented by a large white “G” just above the city and is known as “the city of trees”. In 2016, the population was 38,756. Making it the fifth-biggest city in Utah County by population. The median income per household in the city was $52,036. Furthermore, the community is very family friendly. Yet with activities and attractions for all ages and genders.
