Bluffdale Utah was first settle in 1848 by Orrin Porter Rockwell. It was named Bluffdale because of bluffs and dales that were found in the surrounding area. The city contained many desirable things for residents including Hot Springs Hotel and brewery, dining facilities, stable, and a pony expression station.
The City has a total area of 10.22 square miles. Predominately the city is located in Salt Lake County however, a portion of the city is located in Utah County.
