American Fork is on the east side of Utah Lake. The name comes from the American Fork River that runs through the center of the city. The land was originally used by the Ute Indians. They loved the area because it was great for hunting and fishing. Later, in 1850 the City was settled by Mormon Pioneers. Since this time it has become home for over 28,770 people.
As the city continues to be a popular place for families, it continues to grow in numbers. It also has easy access to the Utah FrontRunner that was established in 2012. Making an easy commute to Salt Lake City.
