Kitchen Cabinets

You’ve started designing your dream home, the plans are all coming together. Everything needs to be perfect; this is the place that will be called home for many years to come. It is the home where friends and family will gather together, parties and events will take place. You’ve been planning out every detail of the house; the front door, the grand entrance, each room, all the colors and every little detail. The next task is bringing it all together not only through design, but through functionality and efficiency which is done bit by bit. Think of your home, where do you spend most of your time? Many people say the place they spend most of their time is their kitchen. The kitchen is generally, a part of your home that everyone will see. You spend a lot of time cooking, making memories, socializing and of course rummaging through the fridge for those late-night snacks. One way that your kitchen will be able to accommodate all these things is, as mentioned, planning out every detail and making sure it is all effective and functional.

One way to accomplish this is carefully planning out your cabinet space. Choosing cabinets is one of, if not the biggest decision you will make regarding your home. They are essential for pulling everything together. Doing it right the first time is always the best choice. Find cabinets that you love, that will last a long time and that you can afford. Cabinetry comes in so many different varieties. Find something that fits you and will function to suit your needs.

Make a list of things that are important to include in your cabinet design. Some of the things that you should consider are stain or a paint grade, one or two tone, floating shelves or not, soft close and or extra height. Other things to consider are if you want a special design in your cabinets. This can be fun; it adds more personality to your home. However, if your budget is already tight this is something easy to bypass. Another thing to think about it making specialty drawers and cabinets. For example, a special set up for your pots and pans, a lazy-susan, cookie sheet holders or other separated places.

The color of your cabinets can be hard decision. There are so many pros to each style. The price for a rustic alder and paint grade are the same. Generally, stain cabinets do cost a little bit more as they tend to be a nice non-manufactured wood. So, if that is the style you like go with it. The stain can be more of a traditional look compared to the paint which is more modern depending on what you want the style of your home to be.

Overall, choose something that makes you happy. Design your kitchen cabinets the way you want them. Just be certain that they find your needs, budget and style.
